Video Product Reviews at ShopWiki

Summary: Cool.

When I first saw ShopWiki, I was disappointed because it was not clear if they were going to add enough shopping-specific structure to be useful. I still think there could be a lot of untapped potential in the wiki format, but no matter, in the meantime, today's new feature is way cool: video product reviews.

"ShopWiki Video Reviews are the newest feature aimed at helping consumers shop. The videos offer a new platform to discuss products and help other users make informed buying decision. And the best part is that these videos are created by ShopWiki users like yourself. We all know that video content is the latest and greatest thing on the Web, so why not put what you know on video and upload it here. Better get in quick, we are paying $50 for the first 500 approved videos."

Interesting to see if this takes off. CNET has pro video reviews, but naturally they only cover the tech areas.

I think, considering the lack of scanning/skimming with video, rating the reviews & reviewers will be critical.
